I love this country
Let’s Save it Together
We all know how important
it is that
Maine wins this seat
in November.
I, like you, was hopeful that the previous nominee could do it.
I, like you, demanded that he step down after such reprehensible allegations.
I, like you, think that we Democrats can still win this thing.
What I want you to know about me:
Born and raised a family in Maine:
I was born in Biddeford, Maine, to young French-Canadian parents that worked in the shoe mills.
I was the first in my family to attend college, and I become a public school teacher. I taught for 38 years in SAD 6 (Buxton).
My wife, Gerry, and I met at USM. She was from Portland, and we raised our 3 children here.
She was a social worker. Our children grew up to become a teacher, a firefighter, and a nurse. I am very proud of their contributions our communities.
Union Connections:
My son is the President of the Central Maine Labor Council. He was elected to this role after years of leadership in his local Firefighter’s Union.
Our family’s union ties run deep: My wife’s grandfather was a member of IBEW #103 in Boston (the Electrician’s Union) starting in the early 1900s through his death in the 1980s.
Teachers in Maine cannot legalize unionize. Instead, we have the Maine Teacher’s Association. I was a member for 38 years. My oldest daughter was a member for the 9 years she worked in public education.
Political Activism:
I have always been politically active.
While at USM in the early 1970s, I was an early member of the SOCIALIST, etc. etc.
In 1980 and 1984, I represented Democratic candidates at the National Conventions challenging President Reagan.
In 2008, I had the honor of being a delegate for future President Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, CO.
What I can contribute as your delegate:
Electing Maine’s Democratic candidate for Senate will be by my #1 priority in the next 4 months. As a retiree who still has a lot of energy and passion to give, I promise to work tirelessly for our candidate until the moment the polls close in November.
